Our Stories

Real Dogs. Real Problems. Real Results

Cooper - Dog&Bike Reactive

Cooper used to explode at every dog and every bike.

After training, he walks calm, ignores triggers, and hikes off-leash with other dogs.

Lui - Stray With No Manners

Louie came with zero rules: jumping, chewing, no social skills.

Now he’s calm in the house, polite with people, and confident with other dogs.

Finley – Fearful Dachshund

Finley barked at every dog he saw.

With play, movement, and clear rules, he stopped reacting and now walks with a pack.

Success Stories

Cooper – The Barking Shepherd

Cooper, a two-year-old German Shepherd from Milton, couldn’t walk down the street

without barking at people and dogs. His owners said, “We tried treats, we tried walking

early mornings — nothing worked.”

We built focus through structured play and calm leash work. Cooper learned to channel

energy into engagement instead of scanning the environment.

After four sessions, Cooper walked through Quincy Center calmly and even ignored

skateboarders — something his owner never imagined possible.

“After working with Makes Sense Dog Training, I finally enjoy walks again. No more embarrassment, no more frustration.” – Sarah M., Milton MA

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to the most common questions from dog owners.

Question 1: How long does training take and how long do results last?

You will see real improvement in the first week.

Most full programs take 2–4 months, depending on your dog and your goals.

Results last as long as you follow the simple daily rules we teach you.

Question 2: Do I need to buy a lot of treats?

No. We don’t train with treat bags.

Your dog learns through play, structure, and clear rules — not food bribes.

Question 3: Can my dog be off leash?

Yes. With proper training and consistency, your dog can have safe, real off-leash freedom.

Question 4: What is the minimum and maximum age?

We start puppies at 8 weeks.

There is no maximum age — older dogs can learn too.

Question 5: How many hours per day do I need to train my dog?

You don’t need hours. Just 20–30 minutes of simple daily play, plus following the rules I set for you.

Question 6: What happens if I stop training after graduation for 3 months?

Your dog won’t forget everything, but behavior can get sloppy. Keep the basic rules and do small refreshers, and your dog will stay on track.

Question 7: Do you take our dog, or do we come to your facility?

I come to your home. This saves you time, avoids traffic, and lets your dog learn in the place where the problems actually happen.
